The August Membership meeting was held on August 21st at U.S. Smokeless Tobacco. This was the first business meeting since April, and we covered a lot of ground! Here is a quick update:
The Chapter now has a set of the Protection of Assets (POA) needed for study for the professional certifications. The Chapter Officers will determine the process for 'checking out/in' POA resources and notify Chapter members at the September Chapter Meeting.
Chapter Member Manny Vasquez asked about a CPP study session that will bring value to members interested in professional certification. 25% of our members hold professional certification in the industry, and a study session/group is certainly possible. This was taken under advisement so that if a session/group is formed it provides worth and value to Chapter members.
Anthony Crawford (Treasurer) made a motion to donate $250 to the Mt. Juliet Police Explorer's Post. Mt. Juliet Police is a huge supporter of the security industry and hosts the annual Security Officer Memorial with Private Officer International. The motion was seconded and all in attendance voted for the donation.
The remaining meetings for 2019 will be held:
- September 25, Schneider Electric - Cool Springs (Franklin, TN)
- October 23, MTSU - Murfreesboro
- December 4, Allied Universal - Nashville
The Chapter is in need of volunteer leaders! We do not have competitive elections and it is time! Interested? Ask a Chapter Officer or take a look at the Chapter Officer Handbook in the Members Only Area of the website.
